DEBT is GOOD! Debt is what keeps all owed (and “indebted” to someone else. This is what is taught,if not implied, in all public schools today to where over $1 Trillion is owed by kids in their twenties where they have little skills for jobs out of college because jobs are outsourced and debt is freely given to students who cannot get jobs.  Is this what we want our children to learn?

In order to graduate from high school in Louisiana, students will soon be required to apply for federal financial aid for college.

The state’s Board of Elementary and Secondary Education approved the new graduation prerequisite earlier this month, and the new policy will go into effect beginning with the class of 2018.

The move makes the Pelican State the first in the country to require students to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, also known as the FAFSA, in order to receive a high school diploma.

The nation’s student loan debt has expanded tremendously over the last decade. With more individuals attending college than ever, the demand for student loans has skyrocketed. For the class of 2015, the average amount of student loan debt is over $35,000 according to government data reviewed by Edvisors, a college planning website. As of March 2015, according to the Federal Reserve, the outstanding student loan debt in the U.S. stood at $1.27 trillion, and that number is expected to grow.

Education Comes out on Top in Federal Spending Bill

U.S. Department of Education will see a $1.2 billion funding increase.

Additional education winners in the spending bill include charter schools, which will receive $333 million, up $80 million from fiscal 2015, and a federal program that funds states attempting to turn around their lowest performing schools, which has been a major priority for the Obama administration. That program will actually see a decrease in funding, from $506 million to $450 million, but that the money is there at all is significant since the new education law will eliminate the program altogether when it’s implemented in the 2017-2018 school year.

Congress has been racking up a series of education wins the last week. In addition to the passage of the new education law, the Every Student Succeeds Act, and the increased funding for federal education programs, Congress on Wednesday passed an extension of a federal student loan program that had sunset at the end of September.

Recent graduates are saddled with student debt, preventing them from saving for retirement and delaying marriage and home ownership.

And the cost of college keeps going up and up each year. According to data from J.P. Morgan, (JPM) college tuition is the fastest growing household expense and the cost of attending a public or private college will soar by 2033. Currently, according to JPM, it costs $42,419 to attend a private college and $16,943 to attend a private institution (costs include tuition, fees and room and board). By 2033, the price tag for a private college will swell to $102,086 and $45,589 for public universities. A newborn today, can expect to pay $440,000 for a private college by the time he or she attends, if the current trends continue, according to JPM.

Student loans have become the issue that defines Millennials, also known as Generation Y, the demographic consisting of those born between the early 1980s and early 2000s. In poll after poll, Millennials consistently rank student loans as their number one issue and one that the next president needs to address.

The big question on everyone’s mind is what does the future of the student loan crisis look like.

PORNHUB SEEKS TO NORMALIZE PORN BY OFFERING $25,000 SCHOLARSHIP TO TEENS

Pornhub, the world’s largest porn site, is back at it again with their seemingly never-ending attempts to normalize pornography in society.

The massive online porn clip hub announced Thursday that it is offering a $25,000 scholarship to one legal age college student. The applicants for this scholarship need a 3.2 GPA, an essay answering the question, “How do you strive to make others happy?” and five-minute video that “elaborates on the good work you do and anything else you might want to say.”

Pornhub Vice President Corey Price told CNBC that it decided to offer the scholarship in honor of its newly launched charity, Pornhub Cares, after discovering most of its viewers were between the ages of 18 to 25. It saw this as a way to give directly back to the millennial community.

“Pornhub Cares is a compilation of Pornhub’s past, present and future philanthropic initiatives,” Price said. “The Pornhub Cares Scholarship aligns with our trajectory here at Pornhub, which is firmly set on providing happiness and opportunity through the worldwide community we have established. It’s about giving back and providing our fans with life changing experiences/opportunities.”

Wow. Just… wow.

Now let us drop some actual knowledge on you. Pornography is not only proven to harm the brain and damage relationships, it is inseparably linked to prostitution and sex trafficking. To viewers, pornography appears to be a fantasy world of endless pleasure, but to those who create and participate in making porn, their experiences are often flooded with drugs, disease, slavery, rape and abuse. Watch just a couple of our interviews with porn stars who have since left the industry and you will quickly see that perception is most definitely not reality. The truth is that while active porn performers rarely, if ever, speak out due to fear of not getting work or being persecuted within the industry, the majority of these very same porn performers inevitably end up speaking out on their traumatic experiences once they leave the industry. And these stomach-turning personal accounts are never pretty.

Our friends over at the National Center of Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) have been speaking out against this sleazy advertising scheme by Pornhub as well. The NCOSE said in a statement that the scholarship was a “blatant attempt to exploit economically vulnerable young people” and get the mainstream to accept the porn industry.

“If Pornhub truly cared about disadvantaged youth, they could give away scholarship money without exploiting thousands of teenagers,” NCOSE Executive Director Dawn Hawkins told CNBC.

One adjunct teacher, JJ, posting a comment online, calculated his/her pay as an adjunct as $65 per student per semester, adding up to the princely sum of $2,000, noting that “each student paid $45,000 in tuition and took about 4 classes a semester.… I think their parents would be rather upset to learn that only $65 of the $45,000 went to pay one professor for an entire semester.”
