It was only in September 2008, after reading a number of new books, reports and scientific papers, that I finally allowed myself to make the shift and admit that we simply are not going to act with anything like the urgency required…The climate crisis for the human species is now an existential one. On one level I felt relief: relief at finally admitting what my rational brain had been telling me; relief at no longer having to spend energy on false hopes; and relief at being able to let go of some anger at the politicians, business executives and climate sceptics who are largely responsible for delaying action against global warming until it became too late.

Higher Altitude Methane Rise

This suggests that huge quantities of methane have indeed been released from hydrates under the Arctic ocean, and that much of the methane is rising and building up at higher altitudes. The increasing appearance of noctilucent clouds further confirms indications that methane concentrations are rising at higher altitudes.

Now Gary J. Bass, a journalist and professor of politics and international affairs at Princeton, has come forth with “The Blood Telegram,” a profoundly disturbing account of the hitherto hidden role of Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger in the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of inhabitants of East Bengal (subsequently the nation of Bangladesh) and the making of 10 million refugees during Pakistan’s civil war in 1971. Apparently no precise figure is available for the deaths, but Bass cites a CIA and State Department estimate of about 200,000 midway through the killing.

The partition of British India in 1947 into mainly Hindu and mainly Muslim areas created a bifurcated Pakistan in a bizarre configuration that was a recipe for political instability and military dictatorship. West Pakistan was forged from the Muslim-dominated provinces on the western side of the subcontinent, while East Pakistan was created on the other side from the chiefly Muslim province of East Bengal. Roughly 1,000 miles of India lay between. East and west shared virtually nothing except religion.

Serious trouble began in 1970 when the president of Pakistan, Gen. Agha Muhammad Yahya Khan, permitted a national election. The winner was a charismatic Bengali leader named Sheikh Mujib-ur-Rahman and his Awami League. Mujib enraged the army leadership, whose troops were drawn almost entirely from the Punjab and other western provinces and had no affection for the Bengalis, by publicly advocating autonomy for both wings under a federal system, while privately promoting secession and independence for East Bengal.

On the night of March 25, 1971, Yahya Khan launched a ferocious crackdown. The orgy of murder, rape and mayhem went on for months, focusing in genocidal fashion on the minority of Bengali Hindus regarded as most friendly to Pakistan’s enemy, India.

Revisionist History; FDR Was Infiltrated by Communists During His Presidency

http://www.viralread.com/2013/06/05/top-fdr-aide-hopkins-was-soviet-agent-book-examines-betrayal/

President Franklin Delano Roosevelt‘s most powerful assistant was a “conscious Soviet agent,” according to a new book that details how Harry Hopkins and others in FDR’s administration revealed U.S. secrets — and influenced American policy — to help Josef Stalin‘s Communist dictatorship.

Hopkins went so far as to alert Soviet officials about FBI surveillance that had discovered a Communist agent’s role in what proved to be the U.S.S.R.’s plan to steal atom-bomb secrets from the Manhattan Project, author Diana West explains in her new book, American Betrayal: The Secret Assault on Our Nation’s Character.

“If Harry Hopkins, the top aide to President Roosevelt, was indeed a conscious agent … what does this say about Roosevelt?” West said Tuesday, describing the “implications” of Hopkins’s role in shaping FDR’s domestic and foreign policy agenda. “History as we know it completely unravels.”

Since the 1990s, when the U.S. declassified its “Venona” decodings of secret Soviet cable messages, several Cold War historians have suspected that Hopkins was the agent identified in the cables as “Source 19,” who in 1943 provided the Kremlin with details of a private top-secret conversation between Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. No official in FDR’s White House had as much access to the President as Hopkins, and West’s book cites extensive evidence from both Russian and U.S. sources to chronicle Hopkins’s role as the most influential of those who pushed American policy in a pro-Soviet direction during Roosevelt’s presidency.

Harry Hopkins was featured on the cover of Time magazine in 1934.

Harry Hopkins was featured on the cover of Time magazine in 1934.

Known to history primarily as an architect of FDR’s New Deal economic policies, Hopkins died in 1946, before investigations of Communist subversion and espionage exposed traitors like State Department official Alger Hiss and atomic spies Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. As director of Lend-Lease policy, Hopkins’s pro-Soviet leanings were no secret during World War II, when the U.S. was allied with the U.S.S.R. against Hitler’s Germany, and an August 1943 article in the New Yorker described Hopkins as “an articulate propagandist for all-out aid to the Russians.”

Yet the presidential aide’s influence became the subject of controversy in 1949, when a U.S. Army officer who had worked in the Lend-Lease program, Maj. George R. Jordan, testified to Congress that wartime shipments to Russia approved by Hopkins included uranium and other materials necessary to the development of atomic weapons. Jordan testified that the Soviets also used Lend-Lease shipments to smuggle back to Moscow classified U.S. documents about the top-secret Manhattan Project. Much of Jordan’s testimony about the flow of stolen secrets to Moscow was corroborated by Victor Kravchenko, a Soviet official who defected in 1944 — and whom Hopkins unsuccessfully sought to have handed back over to the Russians.

Military Sex Assault Reports Up 50 Percent This Year

Government Guarntees 90% Occupancy Rate to For-Profit Prisons

The demand for our facilities and services could be adversely affected by the relaxation of enforcement efforts, leniency in conviction or parole standards and sentencing practices or through the decriminalization of certain activities that are currently proscribed by our criminal laws.”

– Corrections Corp. of America Annual Report, 2010

Anyone who even tangentially follows the travesty that is America’s criminal justice system knows that privately owned prison corporations are gaining a deeper foothold in our nation’s prisons. The private prison industry lobbies politicians, donates to campaigns of pro-privatization candidates, supports the ongoing War on Drugs, and has helped to shape criminal justice policies like California’s three-strikes law. High incarceration rates insure greater profits for the private prison industry.

A new report from In the Public Interest reveals that private prison companies, including two of the largest, the Corrections Corp. of America and Geo Group Inc., are forging deals with state and local governments that provide huge profits based on guaranteed high occupancy rates.

How Your Data Are Being Deeply Mined

marwick_1-010914.jpg

Stuart Conway/Camera Press/Redux A CCTV camera in Times Square, New York City, 2005

The recent revelations regarding the NSA’s collection of the personal information and the digital activities of millions of people across the world have attracted immense attention and public concern. But there are equally troubling and equally opaque systems run by advertising, marketing, and data-mining firms that are far less known. Using techniques ranging from supermarket loyalty cards to targeted advertising on Facebook, private companies systematically collect very personal information, from who you are, to what you do, to what you buy. Data about your online and offline behavior are combined, analyzed, and sold to marketers, corporations, governments, and even criminals. The scope of this collection, aggregation, and brokering of information is similar to, if not larger than, that of the NSA, yet it is almost entirely unregulated and many of the activities of data-mining and digital marketing firms are not publicly known at all.

Here I will discuss two things: the involuntary, or passive, collecting of data by private corporations; and the voluntary, or active, collection and aggregation of their own personal data by individuals. While I think it is the former that we should be more concerned with, the latter poses the question of whether it is possible for us to take full advantage of social media without playing into larger corporate interests.

Every couple of years something will happen that will make me revisit the idea of the water engine. I suppose it gotten to the point that the allowance of the water engine has become my litmus test of the great awakening,

I revisited, and tried to energize, the idea after the Deepwater Horizon oil rig implosion in the Gulf of Mexico in May, 2010 and the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in March of 2011. The fracking phenomenon has motivated me to look at it again in 2013.

I rewatched the mainstream newscasts on the Stan Meyer water car…

And the Reuters story unveiling the Genepax water powered car in June 2008…

In 2008 there was another MSM newscast featuring retired TV station owner and broadcast engineer, John Kanzius shooting a radio frequency through salt water that separated the hydrogen and oxygen molecules. The feature had a segment at a testing lab where the scientists stated (with confused grins on their faces) that the flame atop the beaker of water was burning at 400 degrees (See YouTube ‘Salt Water into Fuel’).

Like Stan Meyer, both these scientific breakthroughs were ‘disappeared’.

What about examples of this technology actually is use?

In January 2012, BBC had a two-part program titled ‘To Boldly Go’. One of the features during the first episode covered the quest for a submarine to attempt a return trip to the bottom of the Mariana Trench. In giving a tour of the nuclear submarine that would likely attempt the journey, the moderator leads us to the room that produces the oxygen for the crew members.

54:50 into the program the narrator says… “Early submarines had to return to the surface frequently to replenish their air supplies, but modern subs can stay underwater much longer because they can make their own oxygen.”

When Scherer asked point blank if she was a real person, or a computer-operated robot voice, she replied enthusiastically that she was real, with a charming laugh. But then she failed several other tests. When asked “What vegetable is found in tomato soup?” she said she did not understand the question. When asked multiple times what day of the week it was yesterday, she complained repeatedly of a bad connection.
